MOUNT REGIS CENTER

Mount Regis Center is a 25-bed facility that provides inpatient sub-acute detoxification and rehabilitation services, inpatient residential rehabilitation services, day treatment / partial hospitalization services, and an intensive outpatient program. We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Inpatient Program – Sub-acute Detoxification and Rehabilitation Services

Mount Regis provides inpatient sub-acute detoxification services to individuals by administering medications and providing other medical / nursing care to a non-compromised patient. We do not administer intravenous medication nor do we use restraints during the detoxification process. Individuals who experience severe detoxification complications will be transferred to local medical and psychiatric hospitals, so that they may receive the necessary acute medical or psychiatric intervention.

Our inpatient sub-acute rehabilitation level of care is designed for individuals that are free of acute withdrawal symptoms, but who may continue to need ongoing medical monitoring or may require treatment of an unstable, chronic physical illness. Mount Regis’ clinical staff places an individual in this program after reviewing the individual’s admission criteria, individualized needs, discharge resources for continuity of care, psychosocial aspects, and financial resources.

The process of rehabilitation is to guide addicted individuals toward taking responsibility for managing their recovery and giving them the tools to do so. Individuals in our inpatient sub-acute rehabilitation program have expected treatment outcomes, including contact and coordination with their families and employers, participation in outpatient programs, and arrangement of continuity of care. Individuals are given various written and reading assignments to lead them toward recognizing their powerlessness over the disease of chemical dependency and the unmanageability of their life. Patterns of behavior are identified and related to an individual’s losses or other negative consequences—leading to identification of behavioral patterns that must be changed in order to cope with high-risk situations in the future.

Once the treatment goals are achieved, individuals are able to make a relapse prevention plan for the situations and triggers identified. The goals are discussed and worked on in individual counseling, group education, group process, family counseling, 12-step recovery groups, and other modalities.

Inpatient Program – Residential Rehabilitation Services

Mount Regis’ residential rehabilitation program’s admission criteria differ from the inpatient sub-acute rehabilitation program, in that individuals in the residential program do not need extensive medical management. An individualized rehabilitation treatment plan is formulated, with the expected treatment outcomes and intensity of treatment.

Aftercare Services

Helping clients maintain recovery after they leave treatment is an important goal at Mount Regis. Discharge planning begins upon a client’s admission to ensure that the necessary supportive environment is in place upon the individual’s discharge. Through ongoing communication with an individual’s family and referring professionals, the client experiences a smooth transition back to the home and work environments. This provides clients with strong support during the early period of their recovery.

Aftercare meetings are conducted on-site at Mount Regis on a weekly basis. Since our clients live throughout the nation, we have an extensive aftercare provider network, which makes local meetings available to individuals.

In our commitment to helping individuals maintain sobriety after discharge, we maintain a content-rich website, which contains valuable educational information and live interactive chat forums. Mount Regis also maintains a successful Alumni Program, whereby former clients of our facility sponsor social activities throughout the year. These activities allow former clients to stay in contact with one another during their recovery.
