HIGHLAND RIDGE HOSPITAL INPATIENT PROGRAMS

Highland Ridge Hospital is a 41-bed substance abuse and psychiatric treatment facility located in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley in Midvale, Utah. We are the oldest specialty treatment program in Utah and are licensed by the Utah Department of Health and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Inpatient Program – Substance Abuse Services

Highland Ridge’s substance abuse program is recognized in the behavioral health industry as one of the most intensive programs available. Developed over the years to achieve rapid recovery with minimal relapse, we provide multiple therapeutic groups daily, including 12-step groups, psychotherapy groups, psycho-educational groups, recreational alternative groups, community milieu groups, family groups, and special issues groups. Patients and their families also participate in Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Al-Anon groups, which are conducted on-site at Highland Ridge.

Detoxification and Rehabilitation

Using the latest, nationally recognized detoxification and rehabilitation protocols, Highland Ridge provides a safe, fast, and effective program that is individualized for each patient and overseen by an experienced medical team. Individuals receive substance abuse services in a secure unit under close medical supervision.

Inpatient Program – Psychiatric Services

Highland Ridge offers a full continuum of psychiatric services to meet required levels of care. We also evaluate and treat co-morbid conditions, perform extensive laboratory work, and manage various medical issues concurrent with psychiatric illness. A team of our physicians, psychiatrists, and nurse practitioners understand the intricate relationship between psychiatric and medical disorders, providing an integrated model of care.

Psychiatric Hospitalization

Clients in Highland Ridge’s inpatient psychiatric program are treated in a controlled and structured environment to assist those suffering from emotional and behavioral difficulties. Individuals participate in weekly psychotherapy sessions, daily medication and medical management, and regular family sessions and individualized self-help programs. A client’s progress and individualized treatment plan are reviewed daily.

Our inpatient program is designed to efficiently and effectively evaluate and stabilize an individual, then provide the coping skills required to step down to lower levels of care. We help each individual achieve maximum levels of functioning in personal, interpersonal, and occupational arenas.

Aftercare Services

Aftercare planning is initiated at the time of a client’s admission. Highland Ridge provides a continuum of step-down care and also maintains a network of alternative care programs to refer individuals as applicable. We also offer our clients three months of free aftercare services, including support groups, Internet-based tracking, and interactive support services.
